A Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led framework for guiding the future development, regeneration and conservation of the town.  It’s about the use and development of land.  The Plan can deal with a wide range of social, economic and environmental issues or it can focus on one or two issues.  These will be issues that are relevant to the whole town.

The Neighbourhood Plan will be subject to a public referendum. Once the plan has been subjected to independent examination and any necessary modifications made to ensure it meets important legal requirements, it will be necessary to gain a more than 50% ‘yes’ vote of those voting in the public referendum in order to bring it into force.
