Our new Town Councillor
Following the
resignation of Carl Jones as the Town Councillor for St Neots East (which includes Love's Farm), the Town Council have co-opted David Wells - who is currently the Treasurer of Love's Farm Community Association - as Carl's replacement.
We've asked David to introduce himself, this is what he says:
I'm very excited to be asked to serve as Town Councillor for Love's Farm/St Neots East. My wife, Lynn and I moved to Loves Farm in November 2010, from Bassingbourn near Royston. My sister’s family have also lived in St Neots for 20 years. We have two children, both in their twenties. I work for IBM on design and implementation of financial systems for larger companies and public sector clients.
I applied to become a Town Councillor to support and help shape the development of St Neots East and the wider town for the benefits of all residents. I work with the Loves Farm Community Association, currently as Treasurer. I believe passionately it is very important to build communities rather than just new houses. This requires both creating a sense of community e.g. through organising events and timely provision of services e.g. schools, open spaces, shops, community centre, transport and parking controls. I also have contributed to the consultation meetings for the Loves Farm East and Wintringham Park proposals.
I can be contacted on davidjwells@hotmail.co.uk or 01480 211629
