Celebrating the Olympics
Here at Love’s Farm we couldn’t let the Olympics pass without a celebration.
Love’s Farm Community Association teamed up with St Neots Town Football club and Hunts DC for an afternoon and evening of fun and sport at the Football Club.
The sun shone and children enjoyed races and assault courses with the St Neots Rural Children centre, and had the chance to draw and colour in pictures along Olympic sports theme.
The Fire engine was popular with the youngsters and parents alike with information on fire safety for St Neots Fire Service. Black Cat Radio also came down and their mascot tested their keeper skills in goal against the children.
Into the evening there was more fun, with a Qi Kwando demonstration, Dodge ball and other sporting activities with Hunts DC DASH Scheme and a 5-a-side football tournament meant the adults were not left out.
Union Jacks were everywhere including face painting to support ‘Team GB’.
Ending the day many enjoyed the fantastic ‘Opening ceremony’ on the big screen in the club to mark the start of the Olympics in London.
"We couldn’t let the exciting event of London 2012 pass us by" said Emma Lovelock of the Love’s Farm Community Association, "as well a chance to encourage the young to get active and also enjoy the fantastic facilities of St Neots Town football club, who have been instrumental in organising this event and were fantastic hosts for the day."
